- 2 pounds yuca
- 1 cup cheese, grated
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup oil for frying
- Peel and cook yuca in salted water until tender, about 20 minutes.
- Drain and let cool slightly, then mash until smooth.
- Add cheese, egg, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to the yuca and mix well.
- Form the mixture into small balls and set aside.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the yuca balls until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
