- 1 pound spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese, for serving
- Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onion and garlic until softened.
- Add ground beef to the skillet, cooking until browned.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes.
- Combine the cooked spaghetti with the sauce and serve hot, topped with Parmesan cheese.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a splash of red wine when cooking the meat.
