A delicious creamy potato gratin perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 300 ml heavy cream
  • 200 ml milk
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 100 g grated cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Peel and slice the potatoes thinly.
  3. In a saucepan, combine cream, milk, minced garlic, salt, and pepper, and heat gently.
  4. Layer half of the potato slices in a buttered baking dish, pour half the cream mixture over them.
  5. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and cream.
  6. Sprinkle grated cheese on top.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • This dish pairs well with a side salad.
  • Can be prepared ahead of time and baked before serving.
