- 1 kg potatoes
- 300 ml heavy cream
- 200 ml milk
- 2 garlic cloves
- 100 g grated cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Peel and slice the potatoes thinly.
- In a saucepan, combine cream, milk, minced garlic, salt, and pepper, and heat gently.
- Layer half of the potato slices in a buttered baking dish, pour half the cream mixture over them.
- Repeat with the remaining potatoes and cream.
- Sprinkle grated cheese on top.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
