- 6 egg yolks
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup brewed espresso
- 1/2 cup limoncello liqueur
- 24 ladyfinger cookies
- 1/4 cup lemon zest (for garnish)
- In a bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar until pale and thick.
- Fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks and gently fold into the mascarpone mixture.
- In a shallow dish, combine the brewed espresso and limoncello.
- Dip the ladyfingers into the espresso mixture briefly and layer them in a serving dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- Repeat the layering process with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Before serving, sprinkle with lemon zest.
Notes
- This dessert is best made a day in advance to allow flavors to meld.
- Adjust the amount of limoncello to your taste preference.
