Delicious Rinderlende in Sauce, a traditional dish that features tender beef in a rich and flavorful sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 kg Rinderlende (beef loin)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 500 ml beef broth
  • 200 ml red wine
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 100 g mushrooms, sliced

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the beef and brown on all sides.
  2. Remove the beef and set aside. In the same pot, add onion, carrots, and garlic, sauté until softened.
  3. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add the red wine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pot.
  5. Add beef broth, tomato paste, thyme, salt, and pepper. Return beef to the pot.
  6. Bring to a simmer, cover and cook for 1.5 to 2 hours until beef is tender.
  7. In the last 30 minutes of cooking, add mushrooms.
  8. Once cooked, slice the beef and serve with the sauce.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the beef in wine and herbs overnight.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or bread to soak up the sauce.
