Delicious Swedish meatballs served with a creamy sauce.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams ground beef
  • 250 grams ground pork
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 100 grams breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 100 ml milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 400 ml beef broth
  • 200 ml heavy cream

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Mix well.
  2. Form the mixture into small meatballs.
  3. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides.
  4. Add the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Cook for 20 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through.
  5. Remove the meatballs and stir in the heavy cream to make the sauce.
  6. Serve the meatballs with the sauce over mashed potatoes or noodles.

Notes

  • Serve with lingonberry sauce for authentic taste.
  • These meatballs can be frozen for later use.
