- 200 g sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 100 g all-purpose flour
- 50 g cornstarch
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 200 g heavy cream
- 50 g powdered sugar
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Separate the eggs and beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Gradually add the sugar and continue to beat until glossy.
- Add the egg yolks and vanilla extract, mixing gently.
- Fold in the flour, cornstarch, and baking powder.
- Pour the batter into a prepared cake pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool before frosting.
- Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and frost the cooled cake.
Notes
- Ensure the eggs are at room temperature for better volume.
- For a richer flavor, use vanilla beans instead of extract.
