  • 1 pound pork shoulder, cut into chunks
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh lime wedges, for serving
  • Sliced radishes, for serving
  • Chopped cilantro, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the pork, onion, garlic, cumin, oregano, and chicken broth.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 1.5 hours or until the pork is tender.
  3. Remove the pork and shred it into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Return the shredded pork to the pot, add the hominy, and season with salt.
  5. Simmer for an additional 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  6. Serve hot with lime wedges, sliced radishes, and chopped cilantro.

Notes
